One hundred and one candidates participated in a rally and press conference sponsored by the Cincinnati Tea Party and Cincinnati 9/12 Project on Wednesday, February 24 in West Chester, OH. Registered candidates from any party who are running for office—from precinct executive to US Representative—were recognized. No candidates were endorsed.
Participants in the rally were required to commit to basic ethical standards and the Tea Party’s (full text below). The pledges were notarized and are published at http://www.cincinnatiteaparty.org/candidate_pledge.htm.
We challenge the citizens, the candidates, and elected officials to hold them to their promise.
If the one hundred and one candidates follow through on their pledges to follow conservative values and act ethically, we will see continuous improvement in the protection of our civil liberties. Ohio candidates who were unable to attend the rally, but are interested in signing the agreement may make arrangements with Justin Binik-Thomas.
